GEORGE WRIGHT GOLF COURSE -

Is an 18 hole municipal golf course located in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Boston Ma. It is an original Donald Ross design, opening in 1938. The golf course has undertaken a long term master plan of improvements that have been implemented over the last 20 years.

Averaging about 50 thousand rounds of golf a year, the golf course is consistently ranked as a top Municipal golf course in Massachusetts, as well as a top Municipal golf course nationally. We will host The Massachusetts Amateur Championship in 2028.

1st Assistant Superintendent position -

We are seeking a self - motivated, experienced person to assume the role of our 1st Assistant Superintendent. The individual will be involved in every part of our maintenance operation, with focuses on Spray applications, record keeping, Course set up, Staff supervision and scheduling, course monitoring, irrigation system operation and occasional troubleshooting, staff hiring/ on-boarding, payroll responsibilities, and project management. The work week is roughly 50 hours during the golf season.

Other duties will include : Equipment operation, assisting equipment manager, Snow removal, Fall cultural practices, overseeing capital course improvements, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 2 or 4 year degree in turfgrass management minimum .
• 3 or more years full time experience on a golf course. Assistant Superintendent experience preferred.
• Spanish language skills a plus.
• Massachusetts Category 37 Pesticide applicators License required within 3 months of employment.
• Valid Massachusetts drivers license required.
• Must be a citizen or permanent legal resident of the US, and have verifiable documentation.
• Must be able to pass a Cori criminal background check, and physical. The City of a Boston has an Employee Residency policy, please see below.

MUST BE A PERMANENT RESIDENT OF THE CITY OF BOSTON AT THE TIME OF HIRE, AND DURING ENTIRE TENURE OF EMPLOYMENT. ANNUAL PROOF OF RESIDENCY IS REQUIRED BY COB TO MAINTAIN EMPLOYMENT STATUS.

SALARY - 64,000.00 - 88,400.00 POSITION OPEN UNTIL FILLED
