    The Chequessett Club was founded in 1929 and was designed by Wayne Styles.  It is a semi-private nine- hole seaside golf, sailing, and tennis club.
    This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate. Duties include all tasks related to the upkeep of the golf course and grounds. 
    Other responsibilities include:

    • Managing and guiding seasonal help
    • Equipment maintenance and repair
    • Creative problem solving and dedication to quality in all assigned tasks

    • Well-rounded golf maintenance experience is a must.
    • Massachusetts Pesticide license or the ability to obtain one is helpful.
    • Turf certificate or degree in a related field is a plus but not required.

    The Town of Brewster seeks qualified candidates for the position of Director of Golf Operations for the Captains Golf Course. Position is responsible for all aspects of daily operations and fiscal performance of two town owned 18 hole golf courses situated on the same property. Develop and monitor annual operating budget, golf fee rates, revenue projections, five year capital plan, and marketing plan, in collaboration with the Brewster Golf Commission. Oversees operations of retail pro-shop and on-site restaurant concessionaire. Establishes course instructional programs to be administered by PGA professionals for the betterment of the game of golf. Responsible for achieving top quality playing conditions through oversight of the Superintendent of Golf Maintenance and the maintenance department. This position is also responsible for overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of the clubhouse facilities.  The successful candidate is expected to work collaboratively with all constituents, including members, department heads, staff, elected and appointed officials and must be a consensus-builder.

    Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Administration, Business Administrator or a related field, with a minimum of five years’ work experience related to the management of a golf course, and at least three years in a supervisory capacity, or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Membership in PGA of America or Golf Superintendent’s Association of America preferred.

    This is a full-time, contract position with a comprehensive benefits package and an annual starting salary range of $90,000 - $115,000.

    Potowomut Golf Club is a private 18-hole golf club located in Warwick, Rhode Island.  They are excited to announce the exceptional career opportunity of Equipment Manager/Head Mechanic.  

    Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Maintains a preventative maintenance program on all equipment, purchases repair parts and replacement supplies.
    • Places orders for parts/supplies as needed for equipment or service and tracks expenses and inventories for budget purposes.
    • Inspects, adjusts, diagnoses and repairs mechanical defects in many types of golf course maintenance equipment.
    • Performs mower grinding/sharpening, general overhaul of motors and reels, installs and adjusts braking systems.
    • Manages expenses in the maintenance of the equipment fleet relating to parts purchases, inventory levels, service work, fuel inventories and related items
    • Ensures accurate records of preventative maintenance, repairs made, parts ordered are kept

    Salary range is $50,000 - $60,000 and is dependent on experience.  Other benefits include health insurance (with or without HSA), 401K, uniforms and golfing privileges.

    Equipment Manager - Sacconnesset Golf Club

    Position Description: Sacconnesset Golf Club, located in Falmouth, MA is seeking a well-qualified, hard working and reliable individual to fill the Equipment Manager Position.

    The Equipment Manager will coordinate and be responsible for overseeing a comprehensive preventative repair and maintenance program of all equipment under the direction of the Golf Course Superintendent.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Keep all equipment in efficient and safe operating condition.
    • Perform quality of cut checks and bench settings of all mowing equipment.
    • Perform and implement grinding of mowing equipment on a consistent basis.
    • Order parts and maintain a sufficient parts inventory as required by expected maintenance.
    • Maintain accurate records of all routine and non-routine maintenance of equipment.
    • Complete all service work (oil, filter and lubrication changes) as required.
    • Diagnose and repair various gas and diesel pieces of golf course equipment.
    • Maintain and promote a safe workplace inside and outside the maintenance facility.
    • Routine on-course checks of mower performance.
    • Assist in training staff of safe and proper operation of golf course equipment.
    • Operate mowing equipment on the golf course as needed.


    • Working knowledge of reel and bed knife grinding, reel set-up and grinding equipment
    • Experience maintaining and repairing gas and diesel engines
    • Small equipment repair experience
    • Practical knowledge of the safety precautions associated with the profession
    • Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel for record keeping
    • Ability to work in varying weather conditions
    • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and stand for long periods of time
    • High School Diploma or greater
    • Possess a valid Driver’s License

    Job Summary
    The Assistant Superintendent will be involved in all aspects of managing the golf course and will work closely with the Superintendent to plan and implement our practices to achieve our objectives.  The ideal candidate will be a team orientated individual who has a positive attitude and can work both independently and with other members on a small crew.  Must be willing to work in other areas of The Davenport Companies as needed.

    Experience Requirements
    Previous golf course experience is a plus.  However, we will train the right candidate.

    The Equipment Manager for the Golf Maintenance Department coordinates and oversees a comprehensive preventive maintenance program under the direction of the Director of Agronomy.  The Equipment Manager will also have the support of a Turf Technician, whom he/she will be responsible to direct and supervise to accomplish department goals.

    • Heavily focused on Toro equipment with some John Deere mixed in
    • Maintains a preventive maintenance program for all equipment including but not limited to golf course
    • Creates schedules and directs mechanics to achieve daily/annual departmental goals
    • Ensures all equipment is operational and safe for daily use
    • Repairs, adjust and grind cutting units on various mowing equipment (Foley grinders)
    • Prioritizes equipment repair and maintenance work to fit the needs of the golf course
    • Maintains accurate records of repairs and preventive maintenance with use of computer
    • Checks performance of and makes timely repairs to equipment on the course if needed
    • Maintains a preventive maintenance program within budget on all equipment, and purchases repair parts and supplies
    • Willingness to participate in continuing education
    • Knowledge of gas and diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulic systems
    • Self-motivated, positive attitude
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
    • Prior grinding experience a plus

    2nd Assistant Golf Course Superintendent – Woods Hole Golf Club

    Job Summary
    Assists with the maintenance of the golf course properties including golf course, clubhouse grounds, landscaping, open spaces and the equipment used to maintain these areas.

    Education and Experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in Plant Science or an Associate's degree from a two-year Turfgrass Management Program
    • Good skill set with Irrigation systems and Turf Health applications. Previous experience on a golf course required

    Core Competencies
    • Understands the rules of golf and the maintenance practices required for premier conditioning
    • Strong leadership, problem-solving and decision-making skills

    Job Tasks

    • Training the staff of the proper techniques of Course Maintenance 
    •  Supervises maintenance work to efficiently utilize staff and equipment
