    Nestled on scenic grounds with meticulously maintained landscapes, Willowbend offers not only a challenging game but also an escape into a tranquil golfing paradise. Our three 9-hole championship golf courses—two designed by Dr. Michael Hurdzan, and a third nine by Bruce Besse, Jr.—are renowned for their layout and provide a challenge for both the amateur and seasoned golfer. They stretch over a variety of landscapes, featuring rolling fairways lined with Cape Cod’s native flora—including 14 active cranberry bogs—and strategically placed bunkers that test skill and precision. The three-nine format offers an abundance of flexibility—combining any two for a full 18 holes keeps the play interesting and if a scheduled tournament is using two courses for competition.

    The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent will play a crucial role in supporting the maintenance and overall management of the golf course. Working closely with the Director of Agronomy, this position involves a wide range of responsibilities to ensure the course's exceptional playing conditions, aesthetic appeal, and guest satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in turf management, have a keen eye for detail, and thrive in a dynamic outdoor environment.

    Duties and Functions:

    • Collaborate with the Director of Agronomy in planning and implementing all aspects of golf course maintenance operations.
    • Assist in managing the daily maintenance tasks, including mowing, irrigation, fertilization, pest control, aeration, and bunker maintenance.
    • Monitor and maintain the health and condition of all turf areas, including fairways, greens, tees, and roughs.
    • Participate in the creation and execution of a long-term agronomic plan to ensure the optimal health and presentation of the golf course.
    • Operate and oversee the maintenance of equipment, ensuring proper usage, cleaning, and maintenance schedules.
    • Supervise a team of grounds maintenance staff, providing guidance, training, and support to uphold performance standards.
    • Assist in the budgeting and procurement of necessary supplies, equipment, and materials for course maintenance.
    • Conduct regular course inspections to identify issues or areas for improvement and develop action plans accordingly.
    • Ensure compliance with all environmental and safety regulations pertaining to golf course maintenance operations.
    • Engage with club members and guests, addressing inquiries, providing information, and maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.

    Qualification Standards:

    • Bachelor's degree in Turfgrass Management, Horticulture, or a related field preferred.
    • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in golf course maintenance, with demonstrated progression in responsibilities.
    • Strong knowledge of turfgrass maintenance practices, irrigation systems, pest management, and equipment operation.
    • Familiarity with golf course management software and computer skills for record-keeping and reporting.
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively collaborate with a diverse team and interact with club members.
    • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and occasional holidays, depending on operational needs.
    • Possession of or ability to obtain necessary certifications, such as pesticide applicator license, CPR/First Aid certification, etc.
    • Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks that may involve lifting, bending, and prolonged outdoor work in various weather conditions.

    Compensation:

    • $75,000 - $82,000 Salaried, Full Time

    Falmouth Country Club is currently looking for an assistant superintendent to join our maintenance team.

    Falmouth Country Club is a challenging 27-hole, year-round public golf course consisting of a championship 18 hole, par 72 "The Osprey Course", and a 9 hole, par 37 "Talon" course.

    Educational Requirements

    • Certificate, 2 or 4 year degree in related field.

    Experience Requirements

    • At least two years prior golf course experience.

    Sharon Country Club

    Sharon Country Club, located in Sharon Massachusetts, is a private ten-hole club with a driving range and short game practice area. Sharon Country Club was established in 1898. We currently have an opening for the assistant superintendent position, see the job description below.

    Assistant Golf Course Superintendent

    The assistant golf course superintendent reports directly to the golf course superintendent. Under the superintendent’s supervision the assistant superintendent directs and participates in the maintenance of the golf course. The assistant superintendent may serve in the superintendent’s capacity during his/her absence.

    Typical Functions:

    Assists in the planning and supervising the maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers, and other landscape areas. Schedule’s work supervises the employees, and the use of equipment.

    Instructs equipment operators on the operation, care of mowing.

    Applies pesticides, fertilizers and takes care of sprayer to ensure proper application of pesticides and fertilizers and keeps accurate records.

    Participates in the operation and maintenance of pumps, irrigation system, and drainage systems. Able to repair Toro 670, 750, and 800 series sprinklers.

    Assist in the maintenance and repair of motorized and other mechanical equipment.

    Assists in personal management and evaluation, employee safety, discipline and may also modify the daily work schedule based on professional interpretation.

    Employment Standards:

    Working knowledge of the maintenance of golf course tees, fairways, greens; the seeding and maintenance practices for golf course turf; the planting, cultivating, pruning, and caring for plants, shrubs and trees; the characteristics and proper use of various fertilizers and soil conditioners; herbicides and pest control methods and materials; drainage control methods; and irrigation system, including wells, pumps and automatic controls. Ability to schedule, supervise maintenance work to achieve the most efficient utilization of workers and equipment; to prepare clear and concise reports; and to maintain effective employee relations.

    Possession of a valid driver's license.

    Required to have a current Massachusetts pesticide applicator license or obtain one within sixty days.

    Must have a minimum of two years of golf course maintenance experience and a turf certificate.

    Salary: 60k to 70k depending on experience.

    Hours: In season 43 to 46, off season 40.

    Benefits: 75% employer 25% employee Health Insurance, 401k (no matching), vacation and sick time, golfing privileges.

    Job Description

    New Seabury is a 36-hole private golf community located on Cape Cod, with the Ocean course running alongside the Nantucket Sound providing iconic views of Martha's Vineyard on the horizon. We make it a priority to create a culture based on open communication, training and development, career advancement and working efficiently on the course so we can enjoy our time away from it.       

    We are currently seeking a Head Mechanic to help oversee golf course and all other maintenance equipment. This position will report directly to our Equipment Manager and will also work alongside a seasonal assistant mechanic.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    ⦁ Inspect, diagnose, and repair golf course and all other maintenance equipment

    ⦁ Perform routine preventative maintenance

    ⦁ Sets and adjust mowing heights on reel and rotary cutting units

    ⦁ Repair and maintain reel and rotary cutting units

    ⦁ Maintains proper levels of gas and oil and other fluid in all equipment

    ⦁ Ensure equipment is safe and compiles with OSHA guidelines

    ⦁ Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment

    ⦁ Performs other duties assigned by the Equipment Manager
