    Assistant Golf Course Superintendent
    The Ridge Club

    The Ridge Club is a private club in Sandwich, Massachusetts.  The golf course is an 18-Hole, Par 71 - Robert Von Hagge design. 

    The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent is responsible for assisting the Superintendent in the operating functions of the Golf Course Maintenance Department to ensure the healthy growth of the golf course & Clubhouse Grounds grasses, trees, wetlands, and other plant materials. The duties include turfgrass/plant material maintenance programs, property/asset management, assisting with forecasting/expense management, scheduling and maintenance of irrigation systems, pesticide applications, and related recordings.

    Responsibilities

    • Participate in the hiring, training and developing all staff
    • Ensure the staff is working within OSHA, club safety, state and federal guidelines for safe working conditions
    • Compliance of regulatory issues as directed by the Superintendent.

    Job Qualifications

    • 1-2 years experience in Golf Course Maintenance
    • Min 2-year College Agronomy Degree preferred
    • Pesticide Applicators License required or ability to attain in 60 days
    • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and recordkeeping as required by local, state and federal laws
    • Diplomatic team player able to foster relationships with Members, Employee Partners and guests
    • Bilingual (English - Spanish) communication ability preferred

    TGC at Sacconnesset, Falmouth, MA is seeking an individual with turf experience to join our team.

    The position requires working knowledge of golf course maintenance, cultural practices and associated equipment, and the ability to maintain effective employee relations.

    Qualifications:

    • 2+ years of golf course experience
    • Ability to obtain MA Pesticide License
    • Chemical and Fertilizer applications
    • Irrigation knowledge and repair
    • Staff management

    Assistant Superintendent
    The Club at New Seabury, Mashpee, Massachusetts


    Position Overview:
    Responsible for managing the Golf Course Maintenance Department in collaboration with the Director of Golf Course Maintenance.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Establish, implement and delegate daily work schedule.
    • Perform IPM techniques to properly diagnose and treat turf problems.
    • Calibrate and apply turf grass nutrients and controls.
    • Train and oversee work crew for quality and quantity performance.
    • Maintain and record golf course supply inventory.
    • Communicate with Pro Shop pertinent information regarding status of golf  courses such as frost and other weather related issues.
    • Scouts disease and pests on golf courses.
    • Responsible for appropriate mixture and application of fertilizer and chemicals.
    • Completes minor repairs on equipment.
    • Maintains parts and supply inventories.
    • Performs other duties as assigned by the Company at its discretion from time to time.

    Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:

    • Knowledge of tools, methods and materials used in grounds and golf course construction, landscaped area maintenance work and building maintenance and improvement.
    • Ability to operate trucks and light motorized equipment.
    • Working knowledge of basic electricity and hydraulics related to an irrigation system including automatic valves and controllers and various types of pumps and pumping systems.

    Experience:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of education and experience
    • At least three years’ experience in golf course maintenance
    • Pesticide application experience
