    Equipment Manager Opening- Bay Club at Mattapoisett
    The Bay Club is looking for an experienced, talented, and dedicated Equipment Manager to join a team that is focused on providing the best conditions to members and guests daily. The Club is in the process of making major investments in replacing equipment. The equipment manager reports to the golf course superintendent and/or the assistant golf course superintendent and oversees a comprehensive preventive maintenance program for the golf course assets. This program includes the diagnostics and repair of failing equipment, keeping records of parts and labor needed to maintain each piece of equipment, and placing orders for parts and supplies needed for equipment or service. The equipment manager properly communicates any needs or problems relating to the maintenance or repair of equipment to the superintendent and/or the assistant superintendent. The equipment manager places safety as a top priority and is responsible for maintaining a clean service area and maintenance building.


    • Inspects, diagnoses, and repairs mechanical defects/failures in various golf course maintenance equipment, including, diesel-, electric- and gasoline-powered automobiles, trucks, trenchers, sweepers, rollers, mowers, and other mechanical equipment used in utility work.
    • Instructs and/or trains golf course maintenance workers regarding preventive maintenance, and the proper cleaning of and safe operation of equipment.
    • Prioritizes equipment repair and maintenance work.
    • Maintains a preventive maintenance program within budget on all equipment, and purchases repair parts and replacement supplies.
    • Keeps a complete set of records for equipment and parts inventory purchases, equipment conditions, costs of repairs and preventive maintenance for all equipment.
    • Spot checks equipment for performance on the course, makes emergency repairs to equipment on the course, and services or supervises servicing of equipment prior to use.
    • Oversees the shop area maintenance.
    • Regulates employees' use of equipment in absence of superintendent and assistant superintendent, if needed, and performs other duties as directed by the superintendent.
    • Recommends equipment purchases and leases.
    • Working knowledge of light and heavy maintenance equipment and automotive apparatuses.
    • Skill in the use of a variety of equipment repair tools, and the making of various types of mechanical repair.
    • Working knowledge of the theory, care, and operation of internal combustion engines and mowing equipment.
    • Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the profession.
    • Ability to move heavy objects.
    • Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions while repairing equipment.
    • Ability to diagnose mechanical troubles and determine appropriate maintenance work.
    • Proficiency in computer use, knowledge of Microsoft Office and other applications as specified by supervisor.
    • Ability to communicate effectively and keep business records.
    • Knowledge of and/or ability to play the game of golf and understand how job performance affects the playing conditions of the golf course.


    • Possession of a valid driver’s license.
    • Minimum of 2 - 3 years as a Head Equipment Manager or Assistant EM.

    Job Title: Second Assistant Superintendent

    Golf Course Overview: Sacconnesset Golf Club opened for play in 2007, and is the last golf course to be permitted to be built on undeveloped land on Cape Cod. The golf course was designed by renowned golf course architect, Rees Jones. In 2015, the club was purchased by the membership, making it an entirely member owned, Private Club. This purchase facilitated the growth of the club and led to numerous investments and improvement to the golf course and other facilities at the club. On the golf course, we maintain almost entirely bentgrass playing surfaces with 3 Acres of Greens (A1/A4 & G2), 2 Acres of Tees (predominantely PennTrio/Penncross & Chewings Fescue), of which are currently in a phased approach of renovation and regrassing and 27 Acres of Fairway (PennTrio/Penncross & Chewings Fescue).

    Job Description: The ideal candidate will be involved in all aspects of golf course maintenance and be heavily involved with other members of the leadership/management team. This position is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to advance and grow their career. Specific duties will include, but are not limited to: staff leadership and management, fertilizer and chemical applications, equipment operation, hand watering, course set up and course construction and renovation projects.

    Experience Requirements: 3-5 years working in the golf course maintenance industry. Ideally completion of one or two internships.

    Educational Requirements: Preferred completion of a formal Turfgrass Management program.

    Special Requirements: Ability to obtain a MA pesticide applicator license, within 60 days of hire. Reliable, positive attitude and ability to be forward thinking.

    Course Name:  Meadow Brook Club, Jericho, New York

    COURSE INFORMATION: Meadow Brook Club has an immediate opening for two 2nd assistant superintendents. Meadow Brook is a private 18-hole club, golf only. No tennis, pool or paddle. No winter golf. A Dick Wilson design opened in 1955. Club underwent a 2.8 million renovation in 2016 with architect Brian Silva. Included 5 new greens, 9 holes of new tees, all new Better Billy bunkers, new short game facility and Driving Range target greens. The current course is 7,405 yards, par 72. The property is 270 acres, Bent/Poa greens, tees and fairways. Roughs are a mixture of Blue/Rye/Fescue. Rain Bird irrigations system, 13,500 rounds per year. Meadow Brook hosted 16 PGA TOUR Champions events from 1987 to 2002. The club has hosted all local majors; Met OPEN, Met Amateur, The IKE, Met PGA, LIPGA, we will again host the Met OPEN in 2025.

    DUTIES: Assist superintendent and first assistant with all duties associated with maintaining golf course and property to the highest standards.

    REQUIREMENTS: AS, BS or short course certificate in Turf Management. Minimum one season golf course experience. Must understand the rules and strategies of golf. Must be a self-motivated individual, willing to learn skills necessary to further their career. Individuals accepting 2nd assistant position at Meadow Brook will be encouraged to volunteer at a PGA TOUR, LPGA TOUR or USGA event of their choosing, once per year. They will be asked to make a brief presentation to Green Committee regarding their volunteer experience.

    COMPENSATION: Base salary: $64,000.
    Year End Bonuses include: Performance bonus, Christmas bonus and IRA contribution. Housing Allowance paid monthly. Meadow Brook does not have housing on site. A taxable housing allowance of $ 1,600 will be paid monthly.Image
