    Job Description

    New Seabury is a 36-hole private golf community located on Cape Cod, with the Ocean course running alongside the Nantucket Sound providing iconic views of Martha's Vineyard on the horizon. We make it a priority to create a culture based on open communication, training and development, career advancement and working efficiently on the course so we can enjoy our time away from it.       

    We are currently seeking a Head Mechanic to help oversee golf course and all other maintenance equipment. This position will report directly to our Equipment Manager and will also work alongside a seasonal assistant mechanic.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    ⦁ Inspect, diagnose, and repair golf course and all other maintenance equipment

    ⦁ Perform routine preventative maintenance

    ⦁ Sets and adjust mowing heights on reel and rotary cutting units

    ⦁ Repair and maintain reel and rotary cutting units

    ⦁ Maintains proper levels of gas and oil and other fluid in all equipment

    ⦁ Ensure equipment is safe and compiles with OSHA guidelines

    ⦁ Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment

    ⦁ Performs other duties assigned by the Equipment Manager

    Experience Requirements

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Assist the Golf Course Superintendent in providing the membership with the best possible course and grounds conditions.
    • Lead and take part in managing all aspects of a large-scale ground’s operation
    • Involvement in daily operations and management meetings
    • Participate in Agronomy Departments Staff Development Program with exposure too: o Irrigation, Plant Health Applications, Cultural Equipment Setup, Equipment Maintenance, Project Management, Budget and Payroll Management, and Managerial/Club Operations
    • Attend Grounds Committee Meetings when Golf Calendar allows
    • Work with leadership team to maintain a culture that results in successful, career-oriented, professionals
    • Chemical and fertilizer programs, applications and record keeping
    • Course set up
    • Tournament preparation
    • Hand watering and turf grass stress management
    • Topdressing program and application
    • Tree maintenance
    • Hazard maintenance
    • Responsible for training new employees before the use of all machinery
    • Snow removal

    Required Skills:

    • 2 or 4-year degree in Turf Grass Management or related field
    • Golf course maintenance experience is preferred
    • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
    • Ability to make quick decisions

    Specialized Knowledge/Licenses Preferred:

    • Golf Course Superintendent’s Association of America
    • New England Golf Course Superintendent’s Association of America
    • MA pesticides license and knowledge of the game of golf
    • Continuing education at local and national conferences

    Physical Requirements:

    • Must be able to stand for 8 to 10 hours
    • Able to lift to 50 lbs.
    • Must be able to arrive at work at unusually early hours
    • Must be able to work outside for 10- 12 hour days

    Position Title: Agronomy Internship

    Position Reports to: Superintendents and Director of Grounds

    Employee Category: Full Time Seasonal

    FLSA Category: Non-Exempt; Hourly

    Interns will work closely with our Superintendents to become proficient in daily course preparation, agronomic and cultural practices, irrigation maintenance, chemical/fertilizer calibration and application, water management, equipment setup and maintenance, detailed record keeping/inventory and other tasks as assigned. Interns will be cross trained in all facets of golf course maintenance and operations, including in-house construction projects. This is a tremendous learning opportunity for those striving to grow personally and professionally in the turf industry.

    Interns will attend bi-weekly meetings with the Director of Grounds, Golf Course Superintendent, and other members of our turf team to discuss and understand the decisions we make daily, review all cultural and maintenance practices, examine our pesticide program and why we are applying the products, as well as the importance of communication with the Equipment & Shop Manager when it comes to equipment usage.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Assist the Golf Course Superintendent in providing the membership with the best possible course and grounds conditions.
    • Daily course preparation and set-up
    • Golf course maintenance including mowing of greens, tees, fairways and roughs, aerification, divot filling, etc.
    • Hand watering and turf grass stress management
    • Equipment setup and maintenance
    • Detailed record keeping and inventory
    • Topdressing program and application
    • Tree maintenance
    • Hazard maintenance
    • Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent and Director of Grounds

    Required Skills:

    • Must have a drive, passion, positive attitude, and ability to work in team settings
    • Solid knowledge of the game of golf
    • Ability to make quick decisions
    • Must have a driver’s license
    • Must be enrolled in an accredited 2 or 4-year Turfgrass Management or Plant Sciences Program

    Physical Requirements:

    Job description

    MTE Equipment Solutions, Inc. is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as an on the road service mechanic covering the areas of Eastern Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Eastern Connecticut.

    We are a growing equipment dealer representing high quality brands throughout the northeast to commercial, municipal, and industrial customers.

    The primary purpose of this job is to provide onsite service of equipment sold by MTE. Equipment includes loaders, tractors, industrial mowers and more.

    The individual who takes this job must be a highly skilled equipment mechanic, capable of working on hydraulic, diesel and electrical systems in the field when necessary.

    You will be provided a stocked vehicle, laptop, expense card and factory specific tools. In this position you will take the company vehicle home with you every day. Most days will start from your home. You will set your own schedule working in conjunction with our local branch to ensure all customer needs are met in a timely and professional manner.

    You will deal directly with customers on site. However, billing and bill collection will be handled by company and is not the responsibility of the mechanic.

    Experience Requirements:

    -10 years or more general mechanical experience

    -5 years or more diesel engine experience

    -Hydraulic/electrical repair experience

    -Ability to read hydraulic/electrical Schematics is a must.

    -Some certifications preferred but not required

    Special Requirements:

    -Must be physically fit enough to handle the demands of the job.

    -Must be able to lift 50 lbs or more from the ground

    -You must have a valid driver’s License

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
