    About PGC:
The club was founded in 1916, and a 9-hole golf course was constructed. In the early 1920's Donald Ross was hired to redesign the previous nine holes and add an additional nine holes. The golf club was built on 120 acres of rolling, natural terrain that Ross incorporated into his hole layouts which remains a testament to his vision today. Since becoming a private club in 1989, the course has undergone a total restoration, all in the Ross tradition. Force Design has remained the club's architect since 2001 and will continue with our update to the master plan.

The property consists of an 18-hole golf course, a driving range with artificial mats, 2 practice green areas. Greens are pushup style with Poa/bent. The Green’s Department is responsible for the upkeep of Clubhouse grounds. We currently have a Rain Bird Decoder irrigation system with Cirrus central control program. The Club has retained Golf Water as our irrigation consultant as we work towards our irrigation and pump station upgrades in 2024 and 2025.

The Assistant Superintendent will work directly with the Superintendent and Senior Assistant on planning and supervising all aspects of maintenance on greens, tees, fairways, rough, native areas, and bunkers. The Assistant will be responsible for fertilizer and chemical applications. The Assistant will be responsible for managing daily crew assignments through a digital job board. Must understand local diseases, pests, and weeds that affect poa/bent playing surfaces. Knowledge of water management practices to create firm and fast conditions. Strong organizational skills are required for the position. There will be opportunities to tackle many projects in-house with new capital equipment purchases made by the Club.

    Upcoming Projects:

    • Rain Bird IC irrigation system installation to begin in August 2024.
    • Watertronics Pump station installation winter of 24/25.
    • Master plan update with Ron Force to include bunker and tee renovations.

    • Possess a MA Pesticide License or the ability to obtain one within the first 6 months of hire.
