    Chemawa Golf Course is a 5285-yard 18-hole gem located in North Attleboro. Chemawa is a league-friendly, high volume golf course that maintains private conditions at a reasonable price. We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join our maintenance team. Ideal candidates will include recent Turfgrass Management graduates or an individual that is looking to gain experience under a highly seasoned superintendent willing to share all facets of golf course maintenance in preparing them for a head superintendent role.

    Experience:

    Ideal candidate will have 2 years of golf course experience, be able to safely operate equipment, hand water, make fertilizer and chemical applications, perform disease and pest monitoring and identification, troubleshoot and repair irrigation and setup the course for daily play and tournaments.

    Education:

    2 or 4 year degree in Agronomy or Turf Management is preferred.

    Special Skills:

    Ideal candidate will have good technical and communication skills along with the ability to manage, motivate and work with an exceptional group of employees. Must also be able to obtain a MA pesticide applicator’s license. A Valid driver’s license is required.

    What You'll Do:

    Compensation & Benefits: 

    The salary range for this role, in Rhode Island, is between $90,000 - $130,000 per year. While we provide this range as general guidance, several factors are taken into consideration when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, candidate skill set, experience and training, licensure and certifications, work location, and other business and organizational needs. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.

    Position Title: Chapter Executive

    Reports To: GCSACC Board of Directors

    Position Summary:

    The Golf Course Superintendents Association of Cape Cod (GCSACC) is seeking a Chapter Executive to lead the organization. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with golf course superintendents, affiliate members, and industry partners across Cape Cod and surrounding areas. GCSACC has a little over 300 members and is growing each year. It is a 501c(6) non-profit organization.

    The Chapter Executive is responsible for managing all daily operations of the chapter including membership services, website maintenance, event planning, bookkeeping/financial duties and communications. This is a part-time, administrative, preferably remote position with the flexibility to work from home, along with some travel to association events and industry meetings.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Board of Director Meetings:

    • Execute the decisions of the Board of Directors.

    • Prepare and organize monthly Board meeting agendas and reports.

    Membership Meetings and Events

    • Assist the Board of Directors in planning GCSACC meetings and events.
    • Prepare events on the website, maintain attendance, payments, and email notices.
    • Assist the Scholarship and Research committee with planning a yearly fundraiser tournament.
    • Assist the Education Committee with planning a yearly education event.
    • Work with the Board to plan and execute the annual meeting in December.
    • Attend events to handle registration, and collection of payments.

    Communication:

    • The Chapter Executive serves as the primary point of contact for the association, working closely with the Board of Directors to keep members informed of news and upcoming events through the association’s website and email communications.
    • Prepare membership renewals and promotions. 
    • Prepare yearly membership directory to be printed by request.

    Financial:

    • Use QuickBooks to maintain and update all financial records for the association’s activities, including reconciling bank statements.
    • Responsible for submitting annual reporting documents to the national association (GCSAA) and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
    • Prepare and submit all yearly tax documents in compliance with 501( c) 6 organizations.
    • Maintains secure record keeping and filing as needed.

    Compensation & Benefits

    • Part Time:  20-30 hours per week
    • Base Salary: $28–$35 per hour. (Hourly or salaried structure negotiable.)
    • Phone & Internet: GCSACC will cover all work-related phone and internet expenses.
    • Professional Development: GCSACC will cover costs for continuing education and professional development, including travel expenses.

    The Town of Dennis seeks qualified applicants for the full time position of Mechanic I for the Golf Department. Employee is responsible for performing all preventative maintenance and repair of all mechanical and hydraulic equipment used in maintaining the golf course and is required to perform all similar or related duties. Employee’s work schedule may include weekend work and intermittent unscheduled overtime as required by Director or Supervisor.

    Duties included, but not limited to:
    1. Maintains and repairs all department mechanical equipment and vehicles (overhauls motors, adjusts or replaces plugs, points, and condensers).

    2. Repairs pumps, clutches, brakes, carburetors, valves and transmissions.

    3. Diagnoses and initiates all major repair work (in unusual cases sends extensive repair projects to dealer, as authorized).

    4. Initiates a preventative maintenance schedule in accordance with manufacturer specifications to ensure machinery is fully operational.

    5. Performs diagnostic work and determines the need for general maintenance work.

    6. Maintains inventory system, orders various supplies, parts, tools, chemicals and gasoline.

    7. Uses gas and/or electric welding units to repair golf course equipment.

    8. Operates any of the department’s equipment.

    9. Trains golf course personnel on the maintenance, operation and safety of mechanical equipment as required.

    10. Maintains accurate records of all repair work and time spent completing each assigned task.

    11. Coordinates purchases and warranty work with dealers and vendors.

    12. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor in a timely fashion.

    Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent, at least 3 years of experience and/or specialized training on small engine and equipment repair and maintenance, golf course maintenance equipment preferred. Must be able to maintain, diagnose and perform major repair on all equipment essential to golf course operation. Knowledge of gas and electrical welding required. or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

    Position requires the ability to sustain heavy physical effort for long periods of time.

    SALARY: $27.13-$29.05

    Position:                      Community Landscape Manager

    Reports To:                 Director of Operations/Golf Course Superintendent

    Position Summary:

    The Community Landscape Manager serves as a hands-on landscaping maintenance supervisor and leader who manages a community-wide landscaping program. This individual oversees and directs the work and efforts of a dedicated crew. The role encompasses responsibilities for the White Cliffs Community Association’s common areas, along with six (6) different condo associations, tennis courts, beachfront and seasonal snow and ice management. This key professional oversees day-to-day operations of the department; assigns and executes daily work with the team; completes project work for various associations and maintains accurate records for payroll and billable hours to condo associations.

    A highly visible role, the manager regularly fields calls and emails from residents and responds promptly and accordingly. The manager is adept at communicating effectively and is driven by customer satisfaction and hospitality. The manager must maintain strong relationships with residents and Board members to ensure longevity of the Department. An ambassador of the club, leads with diplomacy, professionalism and represents the club in the best light within the community and beyond.

    Workswith the General Manager, Director of Operations, Controller and appropriate Club leaders (i.e. Board of Governors, Landscape Committee, etc.) to oversee all landscaping initiatives and special projects.

    Supervises: Full- and Part-Time seasonal staff (Average crew of 15 in summer season)

    Schedule: Monday to Friday with the occasional weekend shift required; on-call for emergencies and storms

    Education/Training/Experience Requirements:

    • Minimum of 3 years of experience with complete landscape operations, supervision and client interaction
    • Preferred 2-year Associates or 4-year degree in Plant Science, Horticulture, Arboriculture, Soil Science, Landscape Contracting, Landscape Architecture, Forestry, Turf, Biology, Plant Pathology, Plant Physiology or equivalent field experience
    • Exceptional attention detail with a willingness to learn, teamwork

    Job Duties and Abilities

    • Schedule daily, weekly and monthly work activities of Landscaping department crew members

    • Responsible for financial management of department including timely and accurate billings and time logs

    • Complete, process and approve paperwork with high accuracy for crew time sheets, materials receipts, and subcontractor invoices
    • Procure materials and supplies for your crews, the club and residents as necessary
    • Ensure Tennis Courts are in tournament conditions at all times; execute daily court maintenance routine
    • Attends to immediate needs of members, guests or staff in the case of breakdowns, accidents, injuries or health problems; knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations. 
    • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions; skilled in following OSHA safety practices and recognizing hazards. 
    • Working knowledge of club policies and guidelines as outlined in the club’s employee handbook. 
    • Develops budget for department; monitors financial information and takes corrective action as necessary to help assure that budget goals are met for repairs and maintenance. 
    • Attend management staff meetings and Landscape Committee meetings
    • Seasonally, it manages all aspects of snow removal and shoveling walkways and other weather-related occurrences; identifies and addresses potential hazards. 
    • As needed, assist with preparation of special functions, parties, tournaments, etc., by installing decorations and constructing display pieces; assist with furniture placement and/or removal.
    • Ensure a highly efficient safety program with an emphasis on awareness, discipline and compliance; implements an overall safety program that conforms to OSHA standards. 
    • Performs all other work as may be reasonably assigned by the General Manager.

    Irrigation Manager position:

    Black Rock Country Club is an 18-hole championship course within a community located in Hingham, Massachusetts.  It is a Brian Silva design constructed in 2001 and opened on July 2, 2022. It has a Hunter irrigation system and a Flowtronix pump station. Currently, we are planning an irrigation project to replace all pvc laterals in the fairways with HDPE pipe in the next couple of years.

    Responsibilities include overseeing the golf course, driving range, clubhouse, recreation center, tennis, and pool area irrigation systems.

    Daily monitoring of golf course and central control for any potential issues.

    Maintain daily records of repairs and upgrades.

    Work with Superintendent on daily water schedule.

    Work with vendors and consultants.

    Monitor home community water meters and records monthly.

    Monitor and maintain lightning warning system and do monthly testing.

    Golf course maintenance work when needed.

    Rate:   $30 - $32/hr
