Position/Title:       Assistant Superintendent

Harmon Golf and Fitness in Rockland, MA is seeking a motivated individual for the role of Assistant Superintendent. Harmon is a unique property with many unique challenges and overall a great place to learn while gaining valuable experience. This is an entry level management position intended to provide the right candidate with the experience they need to move on to the next level. The Assistant Superintendent will gain experience in irrigation repair, chemical applications, team management, and even some equipment maintenance.

Applicants must have a strong desire to succeed in the turf industry and understand the hours kept in the golf season. While working long hours is sometimes required, we strive to provide a quality work/life balance as well.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily Golf Course Management operations
• Help lead, train, and mentor staff
• Assign and supervise job duties
• Support scheduling and workforce planning
• Maintain fertilizer, pesticide, water, and safety records
• Assist with budgeting and capital project coordination
• Ensure safe chemical handling and storage
• Support internship mentoring and development
• Foster a positive, respectful, and team-driven culture
• Pursue continuing education and certifications

Experience & Education

• Turf certificate candidates preferred
• Minimum two years golf course experience
• Leadership or crew management experience preferred
• Strong work ethic and commitment to growth
• MA pesticide applicator license or able obtain within 90 days

Salary & Benefits

• $55,000 – $63,000 salary, based on experience
