2nd Assistant Golf Course Superintendent - Woods Hole Golf Club

Job Summary
Assists with the maintenance of the golf course and helps lead our team toward constant improvement alongside pristine conditioning. The Club has an exciting Master Plan in place with architect, Kyle Franz- construction will begin in the Fall of 2022. This applicant will be exposed to all facets of a golf course restoration during the length of this project.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Plant Science or an Associate's degree from a two-year Turfgrass Management Program
  • Good skill set with Irrigation systems and Turf Health applications. Previous experience on a golf course required
  • Desire to succeed in the golf industry with goals of becoming a Golf Course Superintendent

  • Understands the rules of golf and the maintenance practices required for premier conditioning
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving and decision-making skills

Job Tasks

  • Training the staff of the proper techniques of Course Maintenance
  • Assists in construction, maintenance and renovations on the golf course
  • Application of proper fertilizers and protectants for all managed plant material
  • Organizes all storage of materials used to maintain the golf course
  • Direct involvement with Greensight drone imagery and underground moisture sensors
  • Diagnose and repair, problems associated with drainage and irrigation systems
  • Maintain safe working conditions based on company safety policies
  • Ensures maintenance facilities are organized and efficiently prepared
  • Conducts other appropriate tasks assigned

Compensation and Benefits

  • $20-$25/ hour plus overtime

  • Attendance to chapter, regional and national events

Licenses and Special Requirements

  • Massachusetts Pesticide Applicators License (or within 6 months of hire)
  • Valid driver’s license
