    Education Requirements:
    High School diploma. College education, trade school, or advanced certifications preferred.

    Experience Requirements:
    Must have a mechanical background with experience in electrical, gasoline and diesel engines, hydraulics, utility/golf carts and welding.

    Special Requirements:

    • Ability to fix small engines in equipment such as rotary push mowers, back pack blowers and weed eaters
    • Team-oriented person with good communication skills (oral and written)
    • Positive attitude
    • Organized and able to keep shop area clean
    • Knowledge of reel grinding, set-up and performance a plus-can provide training if needed
    • Ability to maintain a preventative maintenance program on all equipment while tracking all equipment service and expenses for budget purposes

    Wanumetonomy, translated as "windy hill" according to local lore, was founded in 1922 and is located on the western edge of Aquidneck Island in Middletown, Rhode Island. The 18-hole course, whose fairways wind their way along the contours of Wanumetonomy's hillside expanse, provides the player an always-changing view of Narragansett Bay's East Passage.

    Famed golf course architect Seth Raynor in the “sea coast” style of  few trees and open fields designed the course. Golf course architect Ron Prichard, under contract to Wanumetonomy Golf and Country Club, developed a Master Plan to accomplish long-term restorations. Long respected by Rhode Island golfers, Wanumetonomy, replete with stylish bunkers that challenge the equanimity of the most accomplished golfer, takes its place among the state's finest golf courses.

    Compensation:
    $18-$23 /hr.

    Irrigation Technician

    Description:  Responsible for oversight of the golf course irrigation system including computer programming, field applications and repair and maintenance of irrigation components.  Individual will also participate in golf course maintenance and care including cultural practices performed on the golf course throughout the season.

    • Inspect, diagnose, repair and ensure daily operation of irrigation wells, pump station and sprinklers.
    • Assist with hand watering and irrigation applications on the golf course.
    • Assist with training and oversight of summer irrigation crews.
    • Maintain accurate records of water usage and program scheduling for Rainbird Nimbus II operating system

    Requirements:

    • 2+ years golf course maintenance experience
    • Working knowledge of Toro or Rainbird irrigation systems
    • Coachable individual dedicated to providing quality turf conditions while working in a team environment

    Sakonnet Golf Club is looking for a Golf Course Mechanic/Equipment Manager. The ideal candidate must be a team oriented individual, self motivated and someone who can prepare a fleet of equipment ready for daily use and perform preventative maintenance to insure its good working order. The ability to diagnose and repair problems in house is essential on a variety of equipment.

    Education Requirements:
    A high school diploma or equivalent

    Rhode Island Country Club is a private 1911 Donald Ross gem located on Narragansett Bay. The CVS Health Charity Classic has been held here since 1999. It continues to bring 20 of the best players in the world from the PGA , LPGA  and Champions Tours respectively in late June. The course has undergone extensive tree removal, a bunker renovation and Master Plan by Bruce Hepner. A major restoration of Mussachuck Creek and its adjacent fairways was completed in 2006.

    Comment:
    This is a good opportunity for the right individual to develop their skills as they pursue their career in golf course management. The position will only be limited by the effort the individual makes.

    Experience:
    Ideal candidate will have 2 years of golf course experience, be able to safely operate equipment, hand water, make fertilizer and chemical applications, perform disease and pest monitoring and identification, troubleshoot and repair irrigation and setup the course for daily play and tournaments.

    Education: 
    2 or 4 year degree in Agronomy or Turf Management is preferred.

    Special Skills:
    Ideal candidate will have good technical and communication skills along with the ability to manage, motivate and work with an exceptional group of employees. Must also be able to obtain a RI pesticide applicator’s license.  Valid driver’s license.

    Pocasset Golf Club is a private member equity-owned course occupying a 120 acres of the southern shore of Cape Cod.  Originally designed by Donald Ross in 1916, the course today tries to hold true to the golf concepts put forth at that time.  Extensive renovations/restorations have been done recently under the direction of Forse Design and will continue to be a part of our future.

    Experience:  Candidates need to show familiarity with all aspects of golf course maintenance as well as having a minimum of two years of course experience.  Must either possess a current MA pesticide license or ability to obtain one within six months of hire.

    Duties: Complete involvement with all aspects of golf course maintenance and staff relations.

    Special Skills: Communication, motivation and people skills are highly desired coupled with a keen eye for turf related problems. Working knowledge of Rainbird systems is also a plus.

    Compensation/Benefits: Commensurate with experience and education

    Education Level Required: 2 or 4 year degree in Turf Management or related. Will also consider on-line or winter school certificates/degrees.

    Concord Country Club is looking for an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join the management team in 2018. This is an ideal position for an individual looking for an entry level management position at an upscale private golf facility. This position will provide the skills necessary to advance a career in the golf industry. The ideal candidate will have internship experience at a premiere golf facility, preferably in the Northeast United States. This individual must be motivated to work in the golf industry, and have a passion for the game of golf as well as maintenance of the course. This person possesses the skills necessary to assist the Superintendent with the management of a top private golf facility that demands championship quality playing conditions day in and day out. 

    Education Requirement: Must have completed a two or four-year program in a Turfgrass Science related field of study. 

    Experience: Must have at least two years’ experience in a supervisory position at a premiere golf facility, providing championship quality playing conditions daily. 

    GCSAA Member: Preferred 

    Special Skills: Must be a highly motivated individual with a positive attitude and a passion for the golf maintenance business. The ideal candidate will have two or three seasons experience as an assistant or second assistant at a premiere golf facility, preferably in the Northeast. Must have, or be able to acquire within 6 months, a Supervisory level pesticide license in New Hampshire. Experience with soil moisture meters and hand watering procedures. The successful candidate must be a strong leader and team player with logical and effective decision-making skills to manage accordingly and in alignment with the direction set by the Superintendent. 

    Job Description: The Assistant Superintendent is responsible for: pesticide and fertilizer applications, course setup, scheduling and participating in daily mowing operations, leading a seasonal greenkeeping crew of up to 20, directing daily and weekly mowing and turf practices, assisting with agronomic record keeping in accordance with the Superintendents policy’s, responsible for the upkeep and aesthetic quality of all facility grounds, keeps maintenance buildings clean, safe, and orderly, able to identify and implement correct mowing patterns and practices, monitor, schedule and implement irrigation to all turf areas utilizing turf moisture sensors, knowledge of golf course equipment, excellent communication skills, training of staff on safe operation of maintenance equipment and enforcing the daily care of equipment and materials, participates in facility improvement projects both in-house and contracted.

    Course Description
    White Cliff’s Country Club is an 18 hole Par 62 golf course located on Cape Cod Bay.  The Club was re built in 1986 and consists of poa/bent greens and fairways, and bent grass tees. WCC is surrounded by an award winning condominium complex, and offers a unique opportunity for the right candidate.  In 2005 the club a 1.2 million dollar new Rain Bird irrigation system, and in 2014 completed a new environmental center and maintenance facility.     

    Responsibilities
    The applicant will be responsible for assisting in the day to day operation, all cultural management, course record keeping, and participate in training and supervising a staff of up to 20.  He/She will directly assist in the implementation of chemical and fertilizer schedules and applications; irrigation repairs and scheduling; and snow removal duties. 

    Qualifications
     A.S. in agronomy/horticulture/plant/soil science, and 2- 4 years golf course experience related management experience is desirable. Must be a good communicator, Must have excellent computer and communication skills.  Must hold a valid driver’s license, a Massachusetts Pesticide license, and the ability to obtain a Massachusetts hoisting engineer’s license. 

    Compensation
    Salary will be commensurate with experience, health and dental, 401K, local and national dues, and educational seminars with management approval, paid vacation, uniforms, and golfing privileges.
